Elder Hinckley..4 zones....Mission Pres...3 Stake Pres....100 Missionaries plus

Oct 19th 2009
Hey people!
Glad to see that everything is going good in Az. Good to see that everything is doing well. I am doing good and it is really starting to cool off in Crestwood. One morning we woke up to go to church and the car was like covered with ice it was crazy. But i like the cold so it feels so good but its starting to be suit season.
teaching going good no one new yet just the same people. but i got a good story so Elder Richard G. Hinckley came to Kentucky and visited the mission and his son and his family. so he was at one of our zone conferences and so there was like 4 zones there. so we were asked to prepare a 15 min lesson on the plan of salvation. cuz people were going to be called to role play. so like always me and elder Egan got called to role play it and we did it in front of Elder Hinckley and Pres. and 3 stake pres and about 100 missionaries. man was i nervous! but we did it and we were first to go out of 3 companionship's. and we did it so good we were bomb! so that was way to to role play in front of a member of the 70.
good to see Tyler excited about the temple! he is going to be in awe the whole time!

First Baptism ..... Oct 10th 2009

Oct 12th 2009
Hey Ya'll!..How is it going? i am doing good as usual.
so yes the baptism went through of course. Eric got baptized on the 10th at 4:30. it was such a cool and amazing thing. the spirit was just so strong. his fiance gave a bomb talk on baptism and confirmation it was so sweet and really spiritual and from the heart. Elder Egan baptized Eric and i was a witness and said the closing prayer. the whole time i just couldn't stop smiling. i loved it and cant wait to have more of them and be able to experience that again. then Sunday he got confirmed and received the holy ghost and i got to be apart of the circle and that also was so sweet and amazing it is hard to describe how i felt so ya but just so amazing. umm other investigators... we are going to be teaching Brittney tonight for the with a family that she is real good friends with so that is what's going on there so ya. um we might be teaching this family again that had the discussions before so we will see were that goes. and we are still teaching this less active with his family and another family and that is going real well. other than that we got to do some finding.
.so lets see anything funny happen.... um we nailed a vulture a couple of days ago and it was so funny it nailed the windshield right in front of me. Me and Elder Egan have made a promise that we will hit them if they are in the road. and i see so many things dead on the road. its kind of nasty. i see road kill everywhere. well some other stuff has happened and ya you will see the videos on my memory card so ya you will have to wait for that.haha
well i love u all and miss you all tons!!
"may god be with you till we meet again"

Conference Amazing B of M True

Oct 5th 2009
hey yall!! how is it goin in az? i am doin good in crestwood. still lovin it. the weather is starting to get real nice. cooling off alot.
conference was amazing. i love it. the best talk off all though is Elder Hollands talk! wow that was so powerful. that has been my favorite talk so far. there is no comparison to that one. the way he just testified of the B of M. after hearing that talk i don't know how people can deny that the B of M is true. they wouldn't of gone through all of that if it wasn't true! so ya that was my favorite by far.
i cant wait for Halloween it will be funny we are goin to be tractin and people will think we are trick or treating. i bet u guys cant guess what i am goin to be for Halloween this year. you will never guess!
i have not gone to the temple this week. we only get to go like 2 times a year. but on Tuesday i will get to. me and elder Egan are going to do baptism for the dead with the youth. because Susan and Jacob are going for the first time. so we wanted to go with them. they are the recent converts that got baptised before i got here. Eric baptism is still on for the 10th so that is way exciting. i am so stoked for that. its gonna be amazing. i cant wait so this week we are going to prep him for that with everything its gonna be sweet.

I'm In Kentucky Now!

(first e-mail we recieved- Wed, 2 Sept. 2009)

hey hey hey! how yall doin? i doin pretty good i in kentucky now in crestwood. its so much different from the mtc. and i mean way different! so when we got to the airport in kentucky we met our mission president and he gave us a book of mormon and had us go place it! it was pretty fun but hard. we got shut down like 5 times and then one of the assistants came and gave us some help and then we did it we talked to a guy that is in the army and he was a way cool guy and real nice and has heard about the church through the army cuz guys he serves with are in the church. so ya that was cool and was my first deal of missionary work. then we went to the mision home and had dinner and meetings and stuff like that then we went to bed. woke up and had more meetings and stuff. then at like 12 we went to a church building and had a transfer meeting and thats where i met my companion. his name is elder egan and he is way cool. he is gonna be fun to serve with. i am excited to learn alot from him. after that we went to the apartment and i kinda unpacked and got situated then we had a teaching appointment with a guy named eric he is a way cool guy and was raised catholic but never felt it was right. and he is marrin a member and ya but he is way solid and guess what i did my first day we commited him to baptism and his date is oct. 3. how crazy is that my first day and i already have a baptism date! i am way excited! its cool cuz i will probably be able to go through the temple with him in a year when he can and see him and his wife sealed in the temple! thats way exciting! i am excited for this work and cant wait to do more! well thats pretty much it for me. oh and i live in one of the two only 4 elders apartments and its way fun to be with all them. well peace out! love u all! and miss yall tons!!!!!!

In the MTC

As everyone that knows JD knows he is a man of few words. So as of now e-mailing is not his thing either. But he has written letters that I as his mom cherish. Want to share a few lines with all of you so you can feel the spirit as I have each time I read JD words. Wow how he has grown in such a short time. Well here goes....JD says.....

This is amazing. I absolutely love it. Its seriously the best thing every. I am so glad I made the choice to come. I love this gospel and can't wait to share it with others. When we first stepped onto the MTC grounds you just get this feeling of WOW. The spirit here is amazing....

We are so blessed to have the gospel in our lives. One of the principles that we teach in the lessons is that God blesses families. He bless us so much. Families are the most important unit in time and all eternity to our father in heaven. And I love that through this gospel we can live with each other for time and all eternity. That's amazing to think about. I want to leave you guys with one question and I want you to really think about it...
Why do you care?
Why do you care so much about the gospel?
Answer that and you will know what this gospel really means to you!

So today we made a rap for the 2nd lesson about the Plan of Salvation. It was pretty fun. And we taught a pretend investigator today the 1st lesson. And it was amazing. I felt prompted to commit her to baptism, but I didn't cuz I was scared. But other then that it was amazing. There is no other feeling like it. It's hard to explain.

JD is down to his last 4 days in the MTC... he is excited to get to Kentucky and share what he know and feels. His spirit has grown, his love for the gospel has grown as you can tell in his few short words. We are proud of him and miss him tons but know the there are people waiting in Kentucky that only JD will be able to touch and bring into the gospel. We love you JD!!
